what is this?

"who's dere" is a web-clique made and managed by sweet-pea! if you don't know what a web-clique is, it's well.. exactly what the name suggests. a clique for webmasters. a clique means a group of people sharing a common interest. most web-cliques have an application process, as is the case for this clique :3

i decided to create this clique because i personally find dere-types extremely charming. i know this concept is a little cringey.. but cringe is dead who cares! anyways, if you like what this clique is about, you should join :3

what does "dere" mean?

"dere" refers to an archetype given to different characters (typically female love-interests) in japanese anime! there are many different "dere-types", an example of one that you've probably heard before is tsundere. each dere-type is different, but the characteristic they all share are strong and passionate feelings towards the one they love.

the orgin of dere-types was started in august of 2002, the first ever type was the previously mentioned tsundere! it was a coined term to describe a character that acts both "tsuntsun" and "deredere" towards their love interest. the former meaning "aloof", and/or "offputtingly. the latter meaning "lovey-dovey".

since then, more and more dere-types have been created to describe different personality types. some examples are : dandere, amadere, ahodere, and more!

blunt, cold, and expressionless. appears indifferent to hide their true feelings but becomes cute and affectionate when becoming close with their love. similar to tsundere.
